About Me

Brainwave is a ‘science universe’ for 7-14 year olds, from the house of Amar Chitra Katha and Tinkle. It imparts science text book fundamentals in forms that excite children - comics, stories, activities, games, contests and fascinating facts, through books, magazine, science kits, touchpad apps, videos, activity centres and fun-do workshops.

The Soft Board

We at Brainwave strictly believe that the atmosphere for work needs to be right. And hence, the soft board becomes an integral part. Just shut the laptop screen and get transported into the world of illustrations and letters.

This, is the desk of the Assistant Editor - Priyanka Talreja. She loves feedback and more than that she just adores your handwritten letters.

So, make sure you send us at least one letter by post so that she can put it up and look at it when she needs a break!

Behind the scene at BW HQ

This is pretty much what the Brainwave HQ looks like on a normal day.

Starting from the left, Saudamini can be spotted sitting on the ground. She is often lost. She does not belong to reality land. She lives in the dreamworld.

Right next to her is Kayo, our resident geek. Here he is experimenting with the latest model of the RC car. Here's a suggestion. Never go next to his desk and pick up something. It might just give you a shock!

Joanne is the latest member on our team. She loves to sit with her legs up and tick-tock at her keyboard.

Peeping from the other end is Kashmira, our design lead. She adores the dart board. More often than not, she gets her aim right.

Last but not the least here is Sarthak. His job is to paint! He makes Sherlock Holmes for you and does most of the comics now. We love his work. We know you do too!

Psst! So here's a secret. This illustration has been made by the lovely artist - Jeenal Patel for a team contest! Yes, we have team contests too! For making this illustration Jeenal got to go to our goodies room and pick any gift she likes! Cool or what?

So now that you have seen what happens behind the scene, let us know what you think of our Bangalore office!

Lego Mindstorms Line follower

We created a Lego Mindstorms Line follower. This rover uses its color sensor and reads the black line. It automatically orients itself using its motors such that the entire rover will continuously follow the black line.

Science X-plained (fireflies)

A simple cool fun experiment you can do by yourself with just some basic materials available at home.
Try the experiment and understand science while having fun.

Animated Science

Some artistic inspiration that we found to create some of our own animated videos. A one minute trial short video coming up soon!
